Court Cases
- Center For Community Access, Inc. v. Detroit. “On September 9, 2005, the plaintiff filed this lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, suing the City of Detroit and claiming that the city had failed to meet federal and Michigan accessibility standards in altering intersections and sidewalks.”
- Mann v. City of Detroit. “On June 11, 2025, the Michigan Supreme Court issued an important decision in Mann v. City of Detroit, reinforcing the duty of municipalities to maintain public sidewalks in reasonable repair and holding the City of Detroit accountable for a dangerous sidewalk condition that caused serious injury to a pedestrian.”
